BRIGHTSTAR CREDIT UNION / SISTRUNK GALA & FUNDRAISER

A combination fundraiser dinner and entertainment show, this event has become an annually anticipated event. The objectives of the event are to raise funds for the Sistrunk Scholarship Program and showcase some extremely talented youth in our communities. Mark your calendar so that you can join us!

SISTRUNK ART EXHIBIT
February 2014

Sistrunk’s annual Art Exhibit was established as a means of capturing the essence of Sistrunk on canvas and showcasing the artistic abilities of some of Broward County's talented artists. Through the years, Sistrunk has amassed an extensive collection of beautiful artwork, some of which will be on display throughout the month
of February at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center.

SISTRUNK PARADE
February 22, 2014
9:00am - 11:00am

Everyone loves the Sistrunk Parade! This Parade is filled with marching bands, steppers stepping, drill teams twirling, and decorated floats ridden by local business owners and politicians. The Parade is routinely closed out by the amazing Caribbean Carnival Dancers – all decked out in their costumes and finery – and the rest of the day is filled with fun at the Street Festival. If you missed the 2013 parade, you missed having a great time! Mark your calendars now so that you won’t miss the 2014 event.

SISTRUNK STREET FESTIVAL
February 22, 2014
11:00am - 8:00pm

For more than 30 years, people throughout Florida and beyond have attended this event. The Street Festival offers something for people of all ages: good food, arts & crafts, Kidz Zone activities, merchandise and information vendors, a health fair, outstanding local talent, and national headliner entertainment. Come on out and join us! The Sistrunk Street Festival provides a means for the community to gather for a day of fun-in-the-sun and wholesome family-centric activities.

SISTRUNK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Each year, Sistrunk awards scholarships to deserving students within the Broward County School District who are furthering their education at institutions of higher learning. To date, Sistrunk has funded nearly $30,000 in scholarships to worthy students and, for the 2013-2014 academic year, Sistrunk will provide two 2-year scholarships.

Applications must be submitted through the Broward Education Foundation (BEF), which serves as the administrator for the Sistrunk Scholarship Program. Seniors are eligible to apply now by clicking on the following link:
